Who: Deborah Clarke.
Where: Born and educated in South Africa but since 2001 lives in Grenoble, France.
What: Deborah got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995 and went on to receive her Post-graduate honours degree in 1996, specializing in traditional printmaking methods with digital imaging and photography (yes, there were digital cameras in those days). Since finishing her Fine Art education, she has lived and worked elsewhere in the world such as Nigeria and now France.
In her words:
I am a landscape painter who sometimes includes buildings, sometimes people or even a dog. For three years running now (2009, 2010, 2011) I’ve been coming to La Muse for inspiration and quiet time to do my work where I’ve used the wonderful village landscape of Labastide-Esparbairenque as my subject matter.
Recently, from the 6th to the 7th of August, Deborah exhibited her work, “Scenes from a Village,” of the last couple of years to the public at one of the La Muse studios.
