In Her Words:

What do you consider most valuable about your time at La Muse?

The good conversation and exchange of ideas with a wonderful group of talented people from many different countries. The uninterrupted time to make art. The solitude and peace that comes with just being at La Muse.

Tell us, in a sentence or two, about the project you were focused on while at La Muse.

While at La Muse I began a body of works on paper. My goal was to complete at least 10 drawings and in the end I made 15 pieces. It was by far the most work I have ever made in such a concentrated amount of time.

All Mary’s work can be found on her website. The pieces she made at La Muse are under Drawings 2012. You can also watch a video of the exposition she gave her work at La Muse below.

What advice would you give future residents?

If you are thinking about attending a retreat at La Muse don’t hesitate, because the experience that awaits you is not to be missed and one that you will dearly cherish for long after you leave.

Finally, your three French (or english) words to describe La Muse?

magnifique, guérison, tres belle
